Thanks Sam, yes they are Japanese, Golden Square in Soho is in what I think of as the 'Japanese quarter': clustering around Brewer Street are many Japanese restaurants, a couple of supermarkets, and my hairdresser which is run and staffed entirely by Japanese. They were dancing in almost perfect choreographic synch (something that might not be appreciated by my low-res 'phone capturing), they had some music but it was barely audible to inaudible, so the soundtrack is actually what I was listening to on my headphones at the time.
There's something really nice about the low-resness of this. There's a certain vulnerability in the dancers that the anonynimty of the degraded image brings out.
